Trainerize is an international tool. If you practise in France, here is what BetterSport changes — language, invoicing, legal obligations — and the points to check before you switch.
We won't tell you what the other tool does: we haven't audited it, and its offer changes. Here is what we can state about ours — including when the answer is no.
Your profile is published on bettersport.app, where people look for a coach by town and by activity. Ranking depends on how complete your page is; a subscription changes nothing, and the scoring is public.
The price is the subscription, full stop. Payments go through Stripe, which charges its own fees — those go to Stripe, not to us.
Interface and support in French, invoicing in euros, European hosting, and a dashboard that keeps your obligations in view: professional card, insurance, transparency.
Clients, sessions and programmes can all be exported. Cancel any time, no notice period, no fee. A tool that holds on to your data keeps you by force.
The free plan gives you one page, one programme, one client. The calendar, the services, payment collection and video calls are paid features. It's written that way everywhere.
Validating the account involves a call of a few minutes. That's where we check that your situation is in order, and where you ask your questions.
Exporting your data. Ask for it BEFORE you cancel, and look at what the file actually contains: the client list, or the session history and the programmes too? The difference is measured in hours of re-entry.
Your active subscriptions. If your clients pay by recurring direct debit through the old tool, switching tools does not carry the mandates over. They have to be set up again, and everyone has to be told.
Your public links. A booking link shared on Instagram or sitting in your email signature still points to the old tool. List them before you switch anything off.
The overlap period. Nothing forces you to switch over in one go. Running both for a fortnight costs little and saves you discovering a gap at the worst possible moment — BetterSport's free plan is there for exactly that.
Take a typical month — your number of clients, your number of sessions, the amount collected — and work out what each tool would take out of it, subscription and commissions included. That's the only figure that settles it.
Then test YOUR client's journey, not the coach interface: how many clicks to book, whether an account is needed, whether anything has to be installed. That's where bookings get lost.
Our seven-criteria comparison method, and our pricing in detail.
It depends what you use Trainerize for. List your five real use cases and check them one by one with us — the free plan lets you do that without paying or committing to anything.
A CSV export can be taken on board. Write to us with your file before you start and we'll tell you what carries over and what will have to be re-entered.
The language and the invoicing, but above all the legal framework: validating your professional card, keeping your supporting documents, and handling health data under the GDPR. A foreign tool has no reason to concern itself with any of that.
Yes, and that's what we recommend for a couple of weeks. The free plan costs nothing and doesn't ask for a card.
Your data can be exported and the subscription cancelled with no notice and no fee. We'd rather people stayed by choice.
